The common yarrow(Achillea millefolium) belongs to the Asteraceae family. They are perennial, herbaceous plants or subshrubs that reach a height of seven to 100 centimeters. The common yarrow is native to Eurasia, North and Central America. Today also native throughout Europe. In the Alps up to about 1900 meters. Achilles is said to have discovered their healing powers. Hence the Lat. Name “Achilles”.
It belongs to the daisy family.
The occurrences are mainly in Europe, but also in America and Asia.

Yarrow was already known as a medicinal plant in ancient times by the Teutons, the American Indians (it is considered sacred by some tribes) and the Chinese, who also used it for the yarrow oracle. It is mentioned in the Iliad as a means of healing wounds and stopping bleeding. Achilles is said to have discovered their healing powers. Hence the Lat. Name “Achillea”.
TIP: Highly anti-inflammatory due to its high azulene content, similar to chamomile blue, only considerably cheaper. Also excellent for chakra work (for the brow chakra = 3rd eye), opens access to intuition and unconscious knowledge.
Very beneficial in combination with cedar and bergamot as bath salts.
It must not be taken internally. Not for pregnant women, babies, small children and do not dose above 0.5%.
