Cedars(Cedrus) are a plant genusin the pine family (Pinaceae). The Atlas cedar (Cedrus atlantica) is originally native to North Africa and Lebanon, but is also found in France. Cedar organic essential oil from Primavera comes from Morocco and France.

The cedar can grow up to 40 meters high, its wood is hard and has a strong scent. It is evergreen and grows at an altitude of 1000 to 2000m. Cedar has already been used by the Egyptians for embalming, cosmetic purposes and as a fragrance and incense. In naturopathy, cedar is used for skin and scalp problems, muscle and joint complaints and respiratory problems.The cedar was so popular in ancient Egypt that today’s Lebanon was annexed to the Egyptian Empire because a particularly large number of cedars grew there.

Mixes well with bergamotte,jasmine, ylang ylang and rosemary

Other “cedar oils” offered are Virginia or Texas cedar varieties. They belong to the “Juniperus species”. the oil has different ingredients and can cause skin irritation.
