Something about Bhutan:
The Kingdom of Bhutan (Land of the Thunder Dragon) is a landlocked country in South Asia.
Bhutan is located in South Asia and borders the Indian states of Sikkim, West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh (from west to east) and Tibet (China) to the north. The surface shape of Bhutan is characterized by the Himalayas. More than 80 percent of the country is located at an altitude of more than 2,000 m. At 38,394 km2, the country is about the size of Switzerland. More than two-thirds of the Kingdom of Bhutan is forested.
The country is divided into three landscapes: to the south, on the Indian border, runs the plain of Duar, a narrow lowland that belongs to the foothills of the Ganges-Brahmaputra lowlands. To the north of it, the country rises steeply. The 2,000 to 3,000 m high mountains of the Vorderhimalaya are the main settlement area. On the border with Tibet lies the high mountain region Of Lunana. The highest mountain in the country is the 7,570 m high Gangkhar Puensum, which is the world’s highest mountain that has never been climbed by a human. The second highest mountain is the Kula Kangri.
