The jasmine is a member of the oleander family . The “fragrance of the queen” is also called jasmine in some countries. The home of real jasmine is in the Himalayas, Kashmir and southwest China at altitudes of 1,800 to 4,000 meters. It was naturalized in Europe in the 16th century and has been growing all over the Mediterranean since then. As jasmine absolute (Jasminum grandiflorum), jasmine essential oil is a very precious oil.
