Eucalyptus globulus bio essential oil is the oil that should be in every medicine cabinet.
Eucalyptus belongs to the myrtle family (Myrtaceae) about 600 Eucalyptus species. However, only three used correctly. The eucalyptus is a self-growing tree. Eucalyptus globulus – or also Blue eucalyptus – is mainly native to Australia and less in the Mediterranean area. The blue eucalyptus grows quickly at first, about 60 to 70% of the height increase is achieved in the first ten years. In the decade that followed, growth subsided.
Eucalyptus globulus is an evergreen hardwood tree that is native to Australia and Indonesia. The eucalyptus is one of the tallest trees and needs a lot of water, which is why it was often used in the past to drain wetlands (and thus to contain malaria), which is what gave it the name “fever tree”.
Eucalyptus globulus is a remedy according to the European Pharmacopoeia and is used for coughs, flu (influenza), hoarseness in the form of eucalyptus candies (resp. 4 to 6 drops of eucalyptus oil (200 mg) on a piece of sugar) or by inhalation (20 drops) of the vapors of a hot water bath with eucalyptus oil.
