Rose oil is one of the most expensive essential oils for a reason. Extracting the pure essential oil from the petals is very labor-intensive. To this day, the freshly opened flowers are picked by hand in Bulgaria in the morning hours. In the course of the day with increasing exposure to the sun, the proportion of essential oil decreases by up to 70%. That is why the rose pickers have to be on their feet very early.
A large number of blossoms are needed to produce rose oil. So you get only 200 to 300 grams of rose oil from ONE clay rose petals. One liter of rose oil takes about 5 tons!
