Ho leaves

The camphor tree or “camphor laurel” belongs to the laurel family (Lauraceae). Its home is mainly Southeast Asia. It is also found today in Australia, the southern United States, southern Europe, South and West Africa, Madagascar, and some oceanic islands. The chemotype Linalool – also called Ho leaves – is used as a substitute for the wood oil of the rosewood tree (Aniba roseodora). Ho leaves are used in natural cosmetics for body oils and baths.

It grows as an evergreen tree that can reach heights of 30 m and more, a diameter of over 7 m and can live to be more than 1,500 years old.

In China, the tree is a symbol of peace and harmony.
