The argan tree – also iron tree – is one of the oldest trees in the world. It belongs to the soap family (Sapotaceae). The argan tree occurs in southwestern Morocco and southeastern Algeria; it can thrive at altitudes of up to 1,300 meters. He is about 12m high and 250-400 years old. Even if the argan forests look wild, every tree has its owner who makes sure that no stranger picks up the ripe fruits. Funded programs for (re-) afforestation and cultivation have been in place since the 1980s. The centuries-old knowledge and practices of using the tree and its fruits were recognized as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in November 2014. Primavera organic argan oil comes from Morocco.

The oil, which is traditionally very often used in his home country of Morocco, is pressed from the tiny kernels in the almonds of the plum-sized, yellowish argan fruits. Hand-pressed argan oil has been used by the Berbers in Morocco for centuries and plays an important role in the holistic care of the body.
The precious argan oil, which turns (red) golden yellow after pressing and slightly yellow after filtering, is an excellent oil for dry and mature skin. The special fatty acid spectrum of this oil, which is characterized by a balanced combination of oleic, palmitic and linoleic acid, cares for wonderfully dry and sensitive skin. Compared to other oils, argan oil is unusually rich in tocopherols, the concentrated vitamin E compounds, and has up to nine times more radical scavengers and antioxidants than other high-quality oils. It has a moisturizing effect. Argan oil applied very thinly and neat is quickly and completely absorbed by the skin and leaves no greasy film. It can even be used with babies and young children without any problems. It also has a special effect on stretch marks and cellulite.
Hair care: Argan oil has long since found its way into hair care – it has become indispensable in luxurious and nourishing hair care products. Put a few drops of argan oil in your hair oil – simply wonderful! Due to its intensely moisturizing properties, it is a wonderful care product for particularly stressed hair ends. Argan oil is ideal for an oil pack (it is best to massage enough argan oil into the length of the hair and ends before going to bed. Wrap a thin towel around it and leave it on until the next morning. Then wash out with a gentle, homemade shampoo – your hair will shine and spray with elasticity!). From our own experience, we recommend always making hair oils with a large proportion of argan oil (good in combination with coconut oil, broccoli seed and wild rose oil) – argan oil should therefore not be missing in any shampoo, conditioner or hair treatment!
