The Angelica root or medicinal angelica ( Angelica archangelica), is a 2-4 year old plant. that blooms only once. It reaches heights of 1.5-3m. It is a member of the Umbelliferae (Apiaceae). The distribution goes over north-south and Eastern Europe to the Middle East. The angelica root is originally from Iceland. Today it is common in northern and eastern Europe as well as in Siberia, the Himalayas and North America.
