The camphor tree or \u201ccamphor laurel\u201d belongs to the laurel family (Lauraceae). Its home is mainly Southeast Asia. It is also found today in Australia, the southern United States, southern Europe, South and West Africa, Madagascar, and some oceanic islands. The chemotype Linalool \u2013 also called Ho leaves \u2013 is used as a substitute for the wood oil of the rosewood tree (Aniba roseodora). Ho leaves are used in natural cosmetics for body oils and baths.<\/p>\n
It grows as an evergreen tree that can reach heights of 30 m and more, a diameter of over 7 m and can live to be more than 1,500 years old.<\/p>\n
