Genuine sandalwood oil is one of the most precious essential oils as the tree is not cultivated. The Indian sandal tree belongs to the family of the sandalwood family (Santalaceae). It reaches up to 20m high and its best quality is around 35-60 years old.<\/span><\/p>\n

The name Sandelhoz\u00f6l is often misused. Oil is often offered as “West Indian sandalwood”. Amyris balsamifera. It comes from the West Indies. It belongs to the diamond plants and with its fragrance and its effect is not comparable with a real sandalwood oil. <\/span><\/p>\n
