Rosemary Cineol bio WS

Rosemary is a small taxonomic group of woody, perennial herbs with fragrant evergreen needle-like leaves from the Lamiaceae family, native to the Mediterranean. In 2017, the species of the genus Rosmarinus were classified into the large genus Salvia on the basis of taxonomic evidence. Rosmarinus is therefore no longer a genus, but still a monophyletic species group within Salvia.

The name rosemary or rosmarinus comes from the Latin ros marinus (genitive roris marini) and means “dew(ros) of the sea(marinus)”, i.e. “sea dew”.[1] The reason often given for this is that rosemary bushes grow on the shores of the Mediterranean and the dew collects in their flowers at night. An older interpretation of the origin of the name goes back to the Greek term rhops myrinos (balsamic shrub). This also includes a possible eponymic connection between the Greek words libanotis (rosemary) and libanos (incense).

Depending on the location, altitude, climate and soil, rosemary produces different chemotypes that differ in their completely different ingredients and modes of action.

Rosemary Cineol bio WS should have a sensational effect on our memory performance. A study by the British University of Northumbria showed that the memory performance of subjects exposed to the scent of rosemary oil was 60-75% higher compared to subjects who were not exposed to the scent. The substance cineol is blamed for this. The blood of the 2 test groups was examined, noting that the cineol content of the test group was significantly increased with the higher memory performance.

According to the European Pharmacopoeia, rosemary oil exhibits antimicrobial activity against numerous bacteria, yeasts and moulds and has a blood circulation-promoting effect on the skin.

Rosemary oil destroys the dangerous bacteria Escherichia coli and Staphylokokkus aureus, which are known for their resistance to antibiotics. Therefore, colourless and odourless components of rosemary oil are often used as preservatives in perishable foods, including meat and sausages. In countries of the European Union it is allowed to use up to 400 mg of rosemary extract per kg of food.

Rosemary was a medicinal plant of the year 2000 and 2011 in Germany.
