The “true chamomile” or blue chamomile (Matricaria recutita) belongs to the Asteraceae family. It is an annual, herbaceous plant with a height of 15-50 cm. Their home is the Mediterranean, Middle East and Central Asia. Today it is naturalized all over Europe, including North America and Australia

The Association of German Druggists (VDD) named “true chamomile” or chamomile blue the first medicinal plant of the year in 1987. It was also voted Medicinal Plant of the Year 2002

The blue color of the oil comes from the ingredient azulene, which is also found in yarrow oil. This substance is strong anti-inflammatory and is produced by steam distillation.

The scientific name, Matricaria recutita, already connects this plant with the feminine. The Latin word matricaria is derived from matrix, which can be translated as uterus.

To relax the female abdomen during menstruation, we recommend mixing 2 drops of the oil with 10ml jojoba oil and massaging it into your stomach in circular movements.
