The Camphor tree ( Cinnamomum camphora ), but also Camphor laurel called, is a plant of the laurel family (Lauraceae). The tree is evergreen, up to 30 m high and can reach a diameter of about 3 m. Trees have been found that are around 1,500 years old. Its home in East Asia is mainly Taiwan. Today also in Sri Lanka and East Africa. Also in Brazil, where it is grown on a larger scale. In addition, the tree is now also found in Australia, the southern United States, southern Europe, and South and West Africa. Primavera camphor comes from China.
