Rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora) is an evergreen tree that grows primarily in the Amazon basin. The tree belongs to the laurel family (Lauraceae). It reaches heights of up to 30m and a diameter of 2m. Rosewood is subject to the Washington Convention on Endangered Species. Primavera only buys oil that comes from sustainable forestry.

The rosewood oil has nothing to do with rose oil – but the scent suggests the name. The oil is used in the cosmetics and perfume industries.

At 1ltr. About 100kg of wood are needed to extract oil.
