Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia , Syn. Lavandula officinalis , Lavandula vera ) is a member of the mint family (Lamiaceae). In Europe it grows mainly in France and Italy – but also in Argentina and Tasmania.
The ingredients and the effects are similar in both. The European Pharmacopoeia prescribes a minimum content of 13 ml / kg essential oil for the flower drug. Lavender contains a spectrum of well over 100 ingredients.
For therapeutic measures, the wild mountain lavender or lavender is usually used extra.
