Citronella is a representative of the sweet grasses (Poaceae). It grows in Asia – mainly in India and Nepal. It belongs to the same plant family as the better-known lemongrass. It is a perennial, reed-like aromatic grass and can grow up to 3 meters high.

Often used in face tonic and soap making, and used in perfumery.
The essential oil in the fragrance lamp or in the nebulizer is considered to be an insect destroyer.
